SEPTEMBER 17 IS CONSTITUTION DAY The Financial Aid Office is recognizing Constitution Day! Constitution Day and Citizenship Day is an American federal observance recognizing the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens by birth or naturalization. It was written in 1787 and ratified in 1788. The United States Constitution is in operation since 1789 and represents world's longest surviving written charter of government. The first three words —"We the People"— affirm that the government of the United States exists to serve its citizens. The Constitution defines the structure of our federal government.
