Post-Graduate Fellowships

Reiss-Davis provides advanced training for psychologists and clinical social workers, and through its parent organization, Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, provides a variety of services to young people and their families.  
 
The two Fellowship Programs have built an international reputation as a leader in post-graduate training for over 70 years. They focus exclusively on diagnostic and therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and families from a psychodynamic perspective. 

​Reiss-Davis Clinical Fellowship Program

Reiss-Davis offers advanced training through
the Post-Doctoral/Post-Graduate Fellowship in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Social Work. The Fellowship is approved by APPIC, the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers.
 

 

The Clinical Fellowship is a post-graduate program lasting 24 months. Fellows devote their time to learning about and providing services to emotionally disturbed children, adolescents, and their families. The Fellowship emphasizes treatment from a neuro-bio-psycho-social developmental perspective. 
​ 
The Clinical Fellowship includes: 
  • Seminars of at least 10 hours per week, focused on working with children, adolescents, and parents that are taught by well-respected professionals. 
  • The opportunity to work clinically with young people and their families for at least 10 hours a week, receive up to three hours of individual supervision weekly, and attend group supervision offered as a part of various classes. 
  • Participation in clinical research, free attendance at continuing education events, and the opportunity to work with the on-site programs of Vista del Mar. 

A stipend is
provided to all Fellowship participants based on the appointment to either a part-time or full-time position.

Reiss-Davis PEDS Fellowship Program

Reiss-Davis offers a 24-month Internship and/or Post-Doctoral Fellowship program through the Psycho-Educational Diagnostic Testing Service. Known as PEDS, this CAPIC-recognized program is designed for pre- and post-doctoral psychologists.


​The Internship/Fellowship includes:
  • Classes incorporating history taking, patient observation, case conceptualization, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations for children and adolescents from a psychodynamic developmental perspective.
  • Seminars that include testing: cognitive, attentional, processing, educational, and neuropsychological assessment, report writing, scoring, and interpretation.
  • Additional seminars on psychological assessment, including Rorschach, TAT, Bender Gestalt, etc.
  • Case presentations: Interns/Fellows learn how to integrate assessment findings into a more comprehensive and cohesive understanding of the client.
  • Participation in clinical research, free attendance at continuing education events, and the opportunity to work with the on-site programs of Vista del Mar.

​In lieu of a stipend, a financial incentive is offered.
