A Doctoral Program for Clinicians Working with Children, Adolescents, Adults, and Families
Reiss-Davis Graduate School offers a PsyD grounded in a psychodynamic and developmental approach. The program addresses the impact of life experiences, including trauma, on the emotional health and well-being of clients. Our goal is to provide deeper knowledge about conscious and unconscious thoughts, feelings, motivations, and actions, on the path to becoming a more effective clinician. |

What Makes Our Program Unique
The Reiss-Davis PsyD employs psychodynamic concepts and techniques to prepare students with:
- A Developmental Perspective: Examine the role of childhood, family history, and trauma on thoughts, feelings, and actions.
- Multicultural Awareness: Approach each client with curiosity, acceptance, and cultural humility.
- Pathways to Transformation: Build in-depth and dynamic therapeutic relationships that promote healing and growth.
Reiss-Davis supports working professionals at all stages of their careers and from a variety of mental health disciplines:
- Marriage and Family Therapy
- Social Work
- Educational Counseling
- Clinical Counseling
Blended education offers the best of both worlds:
- On-campus learning provides in-person instruction and peer interaction during monthly weekend sessions.
- You complete weekly assignments at your pace with our online learning management system.
What Our Students Say
“If you are ready to do it, they’re going to help you do it. The objective of my professors is, ‘I'm trying to figure out what I can do to help you succeed.’ That's all they've done for the past year and a half, and it has been invaluable.”
Charles Watterson, MEd
PsyD Student
"I dedicate that one weekend here, but after that, it's homework and reading according to my own schedule."
Cherrelle Harris, MA
PsyD Student
“The instructors that I’ve worked with all imbue a deep understanding of how to provide therapeutic services. I think there’s a support and facilitation of that support that really helps me with every case.”
Elizabeth Villaseñor, PsyD
PsyD Alumna
“This program is really tailored to people who are already in the field. Coming in with the knowledge that everyone in the program is already … doing the work lends itself to a deeper learning experience.”
Kimberly Low, MA

“The reason I chose Reiss-Davis is because it’s geared for the working professional.”
