São Paulo, Brazil ProfileMarion Anderson, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist, certified Jungian Analyst (CGJILA/IAAP) and Certified Sandplay Therapist and teacher (CST-T STA/ISST), and current faculty at the Reiss-Davis. She received her Ph.D. from Pacifica Graduate Institute in California. A native German, she worked as a clinical psychologist in São Paulo, Brazil from 1996 to 2009. Dr. Marion Anderson gives workshops at the C. G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles on painting inner images, a Jungian approach for accessing unconscious material in the psyche. She lectures, supervises and teaches on sandplay nationally and internationally. She has published several articles in the Journal of Sandplay Therapy.
Dr. Marion Anderson’s research interests include the effects of a sandplay therapist’s miniatures on the therapeutic relationship, the relation of hand movements in sandplay to embodied unconscious memory, as well as using artistic expression to access the unconscious and promote healing effects in the psyche.
